Dear Reader, As we near the end of the year, it is a good time to look back at our achievements and forward to our projects and vision. In this newsletter, I have included essential information for both. Please make sure to read the message by our president, Sian Foster, about the future direction of the ARLT and a research project that is underway.
Following our stimulating Monmouth Conference in the summer, I decided that thinking was required on the future direction of our organisation, which is so precious to all of us and has proved so valuable and inspiring to countless generations of amazing Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisation and Ancient History teachers, tutors and PGCE students. A very small working group, consisting of William Christofi, Isabelle Chasey and myself with current advisors, Steve Hunt and Ana Martin, has been thinking deeply about our vision, mission and key areas of focus and will present its findings, together with a report and recommendations, to the Committee in March. This will also consider our links with the Classical Association and other interested parties. Areas of focus have been Leadership and Communication, Community and what it means to be a Classics Teacher and discussions have been robust, challenging and thoughtful. We are looking forward to hearing from the Committee and others on the fruits of our thinking. 3. Registration is still open for the March Refresher Day, but spaces are going very fast. Please make sure to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. As a reminder, here is what to expect:

I am sure many of us at the ARLT have a moment to share. Classics is quite a small community, and one of its joys is staying in touch with former students, teachers, and professors. If you want to see it in action, all you need to...
