salve Reader! It was lovely meeting so many of you at this year's Summer School in Monmouth. Laura Beech directed a highly stimulating (and fun!) event, which included cutting-edge research, a trip to one of the best-preserved amphitheatres in the UK, and plenty of opportunity to explore and move forward our subject. The website will soon be updated with teaching and learning resources ready to download. Thank you very much to everyone involved! Here is a small selection of pictures for you to enjoy, including a reading of Frogs, the Latin Speaking Table and the workshops, trip and lectures. If you would like to meet other Classics teachers at an in-person or online event, you will not have to wait long. Here is a summary of what is coming up:
Building upon last year's successful ancient languages teaching conference here in Cambridge, this year’s conference will focus on increasingly popular pedagogical approaches which use comprehensible input.
Designed for teachers of ancient languages across both universities and schools, the event aims to deepen our collective understanding of how methods which use comprehensible input can be applied in the ancient languages classroom.
Participants will discuss diverse pedagogical strategies, share practical tips for integrating comprehensible input into existing schemes of work, and collaborate on new ways to enhance language acquisition and advance ancient languages education.
As the popularity of comprehensible input continues to grow in modern language teaching, this event offers a crucial opportunity to learn how to adapt these practices for ancient languages teaching, promoting more engaging and accessible learning experiences for students of all ages.

ARLT
Hello Reader! In our latest blog post, The teacher and the professor, Steven Hunt asks us: "How many other teachers are there out there who’d like to share the moment when they found themselves in later life beaming at their former pupils who had made them proud?" I am sure many of us at the ARLT have a moment to share. Classics is quite a small community, and one of its joys is staying in touch with former students, teachers, and professors. If you want to see it in action, all you need to...

Dear Reader, As we near the end of the year, it is a good time to look back at our achievements and forward to our projects and vision. In this newsletter, I have included essential information for both. Please make sure to read the message by our president, Sian Foster, about the future direction of the ARLT and a research project that is underway. Steven Hunt has been looking back at our archives and revisited David Parson's suggestions to bring Latin to life in your lessons. You can read...
